Department Profile
The department of Electronics and Communication Engineering started M.E. Program in “Digital Communication and Networking", in the year 2012. This program is aimed to provide the students with a wide variety of opportunities, both in the Industry as well as in the R & D fields. The course provides 2 years of mastery level knowledge in topics like Advanced Digital Communication Advanced Digital signal processing and Cryptography & Network Security Advanced Communication Protocols wireless networks and multimedia information systems etc. The course provides necessary platform to pursue research in Advanced Communications, Networking, Signal Processing, etc.
A student undergoing this program will be able to identify the main elements of a digital communication system, understand the source formatting, sampling, and be able to quantify the performance of baseband digital systems in terms of bandwidth requirements, intersymbol interference and bit-error rates which are the key areas in the communication industry today. To build on these strong base students can specialize by choosing electives like High Speed Switching Architecture, Digital Image Processing , Neural Networks and Applications, Genetic Algorithms and Applications, Simulation of Communication Systems and Networks, Communication Network Security, Satellite Communication, Real Time Embedded Systems, Multimedia Compression techniques. Students also get an opportunity to do projects in industry based laboratory set ups. And these offer extensive career opportunities in both India and abroad.
Infrastructure:
Apart from theoretical inputs students are required to work in the laboratory to get hands on experience in various design and simulation tools. Laboratories for the course are:
DSP Laboratory
